Hi everyone!

When I first started this blog, I was reluctant to write about ADHD because this is still something I am learning about and navigating myself so I came up with an idea that feels much more natural.

Instead of writing educational articles packed with information, I will be sharing honest, real (and sometimes messy) posts about my own experiences and everything I'm learning along the way.

Welcome to my ADHD Diaries!

Since this is the first diary entry, it only feels right to start at the beginning of my ADHD journey.

A few months ago I was finally diagnosed with ADHD after years of wondering why my brain seemed to work differently. Looking back, there were so many signs but at the time I just felt like I was strange.

Strangely enough, the thought that it could be ADHD first came from a conversation with a new friend. I met Maddie at a book club and we instantly clicked. After one of our meetings, I found myself replaying the evening in my head. I kept wondering whether I'd interrupted people too much, talked too loudly, or been generally annoying.

When I mentioned this to Maddie, she simply laughed and said "well.. you're neurospicy right? That's just how we are!"

Looking back now, that conversation changed far more than either of us realised. When I got home, I dove head first into research (hello hyperfixation!) and for the first time in my life, I felt seen.

I will get more into the diagnosis process in future ADHD diaries as well as my experience with medication, grief, adjusting to life after diagnosis and everything else that comes with learning to understand an ADHD brain.

Every week, I am going to share my Gentle Proof of the week, a small win, a moment of progress or something that reminds me I'm moving forward.

My Gentle Proof this week: Having the courage to start sharing my journey.

What is your Gentle Proof this week?

Take care,

Megan xoxo
